The Reverend Double J: Music

Taken By Surprise

(Ron Brewer)
Words & music by Ron Brewer (c)1996 Sirrocco Music
An elegiac ballad that show why J.J. so often compared Ron Brewer to Ronnie Van Zant. Like Skynyrd's TUESDAY'S GONE this haunting lament is too vast, too sweeping in scope, to hold any single referent. Ron Brewer was the true successor to Ronnie Van Zant; a singer who drew much of his inspiration from Country, who wrote honest accounts of working class people across the country and set them to hard rocking guitar riffs.

Ron Brewer - vocals, rhythm guitar
Mike Kruzil - lead & rhythm guitars
J.J. Vicars - bass
Gary Rakow - drums
