The Reverend Double J: Music
1987
(J.J. Vicars)
Jeremy Gloff (c)2008 Riot Boy Music
Disc-only bonus track, not available for download. This song was just begging to be rocked out. After being performed at several shows it was recorded. The author was so happy with the way it turned out it had to be included on the album. Hear the original at http://www.cdbaby.com/cd/gloff14
A little Tail Gators influence with some tremolo guitar in places and the guitar solo somehow turned into FREE BIRD. Since the hook line in Jeremy Gloff's original recording sounded a bit like Prince's I COULD NEVER TAKE THE PLACE OF YOUR MAN I threw a few Prince quotes in the solo. A year after the album was released nobody caught 'em, not even that chick from the 1999 video.
He was weak at the thought of herShe told her life in one long slurHe's kinda neurotic, doesn't like peopleSomething about this girl turns him onSaw a future in her bloodshot eyesGot a thing for a girl who criesGot him most when her walls came downGot him more when his did too
He might have to jump onto an airplaneShe might have to open up her doorwayWhy don't you go with her tonightShe lives at 1-9-8-7Why don't you go with her tonightShe lives at 1-9-8-7
Remember Carolina nightsTeenagers dancin' in headlightsHe shined so bright they called him the moonBetter catch her 'cause she's leaving soonHe told himself next time he's learnGet it right and don't get burnedBoy is dreaming, girl starts to leaveHe better catch her, she's the girl of his dreams
Funny that they'd end up on the same trainFunny that they'd end up in the same carWhy don't you go with her tonightShe lives at 1-9-8-7This is a chance for romance, it's your nightShe lives at 1-9-8-7
She always felt all alone in the worldWaiting for her king to sweep her awayWell, to feel like this and never go homeTonight the trees are making a song of their ownBut he loves her, oh yes he doesAnd she loves him, yes she doesYeah, he loves herLook at 'em, they're going back home
Why don't you go with her tonightShe lives at 1-9-8-7This is your chance for romance, it's your nightShe lives at 1-9-8-7Why don't you go with her tonightShe lives at 1-9-8-7She ain't gonna leave tomorrow, boy1-9-8-7
